Jacques Rautenbach

Jacques Rautenbach is a rare talent. He once sent me an original composition he’d recorded for the film with a simple note: ‘I hope you like it.’ My reaction was immediate—‘Are you kidding? This is incredible!’ That has been the standard of our collaboration ever since.

Even though Jacques is working from the other side of the world, he's absolutely vital to the production of Apparition. He's been composing music for scenes that I struggled to find the right ‘voice’ for over many months. Seeing him perform on stage (as shown above) gives you just a glimpse of the passion he brings to his work. Finding him was a literal answer to prayer.

While the film’s score remains under wraps, I encourage you to listen to his track ‘Broken Spirit’ below. It's a powerful example of the emotional depth Jacques brings to Leesley Films.
